I got a speeding ticket a while back (my first one ever!!! For anyone that’s ever driven with me, or told me they live an hour away only to have me show up in 35 minutes, this may come as a shock), early December if memory serves me right. Although I was probably doing about 110 or 115, the cop said he tracked me going 90 and wrote the ticket out for 85 in a 65 (although, the ticket said he DID NOT use radar or lidar). I have until February 4th to resolve the ticket. Whether that means paying, fighting it, or moving to a non-extradition country, like Argentina, or Mexico, or Canada!!
Anyway, the point is, that date is a little less than a month away, and I’ve lost the paper ticket. And I’ve received nothing in the mail about it. So I went online to the LA County superior court website (I got stopped in Covina) and ran my license number to see what was going on. To my surprise, it says “NO CITATION FOUND FOR DRIVER’S LICENSE NUMBER E******2.”
So my question is…should I take that as maybe the officer didn’t submit the ticket? or maybe copied my info down wrong? Am I free and clear of it? Or should I try to call and double check?
